Corey Taylor, the lead vocalist for Slipknot and Stone Sour, has revealed the fact that he has great respect for musicians in the Midwest while declaring his admiration for the late icon, Prince, and the world’s most famous rapper, Eminem.

During his last conversation with Bert Kreischer on “Bertcast,” a fairly successful frontman, Corey Taylor, spoke about his hometown of Waterloo, Iowa, where people used to call “Little Detroit.”

Taylor talked about growing up super poor and eventually making his way to world fame. As he looked back on the tough old days, Corey took a moment to show respect to musicians in the Midwest who suffered the same fate as him.

Taylor said that he was really interested in Prince because he was from Minneapolis, a place where he cannot understand the dangers of him. The Slipknot star also admitted that he is a huge fan of Eminem, who is famous for his difficult life in the past.

Here’s what Corey Taylor had to say when asked if he was related to Eminem due to their commonalities while he was growing up:

“Yeah, I’m a massive, massive Em fan, man. And I loved anybody from the Midwest because I still considered Michigan the Midwest. I love anybody from the Midwest who made it.

So not only was I into Eminem, but I was also into Prince because Prince was Minneapolis. To me, that was like The Grail. I was like, ‘Oh, fuck!’”
