Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar Said That He Thinks He Might be Blind

Former Van Halen leader Sammy Hagar recently posted a photo from his favorite Van Halen album, “Balance,” and after receiving numerous comments about a mistake he made, said he thinks he might be blind.

“Balance” is Van Halen’s tenth studio album and was released in 1995. The album was extremely successful, peaking at # 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and achieving Triple Platinum status. It also became known as the band’s last album with Sammy Hagar as the lead singer.

As you may recall, in 1996 Sammy Hagar had a fight with Van Halen, and the band was once again without a lead singer. During that time, Van Halen’s manager called Gary Cherone to audition for the lead vocal role. The band members really appreciated the talent and passion of the musician, and Eddie said that he admired his work ethic and songwriting.

In his recent Instagram post, Sammy Hagar shared the signed album “Balance” and said that he couldn’t believe it was released 26 years ago. Although Hagar counted four signatures, namely his, Eddie’s, Michael’s and Alex’s, his fans warned him and said that there are actually four. Turns out the signature Hagar missed was Gary Cherone’s and in his follow-up comment, Hagar said it’s “fucking awesome” and that he will send it to Cherone and “give her some love.”

Here’s what Samy Hagar said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:

“26 years ago. All four signatures! #balance #vanhalen #timeflies #numberonerecord”

This is what Hagar said in the comment he posted later on:

“Y’all may think I am blind, sometimes I think I am blind, sometimes I think I am too. But I didn’t realize that was Gary Cherone’s signature on there with the rest of us, that’s fucking awesome. I’m sending this to him right now and giving him some love, hes a good guy and a great singer.”
