The legendary leader of Tool and Puscifer, Maynard James Keenan was the last interview guest of Tone Deaf and the iconic star revealed why he provoked his bandmates during the process of preparing his new album, Fear Inoculum.

Maynard James Keenan admitted that he wanted to encourage his bandmates by cursing and insulting them, but that method didn’t work at all.

Here is what Maynard James Keenan said:

“It was my attempt to get them to push back. To go, ‘Fuck you, we’re going to get more done.’ Bummer! [Laughs]

‘Oh no, you retaliated by finishing a song to prove me wrong.’ It didn’t really work. I tried.”
