Maynard James Keenan talked about being “vulnerable” on Tool’s new album, Fear Inoculum, in a new Beats 1 interview on Apple Music with Zane Lowe, and wearing an impressive gay pride shirt with a chicken.
Maynard James Keenan said,
“I think with any instruction I’ve had from writers, prose, poetry, just artists in general, painters, sculptors, wine makers, a lot of it is get out of the way, but also create from where you are or what you have. I feel like this record is kind of a reflection of that, trying to chronicle where are we, where am I, because a lot of these stories, they’re not coming from the other three guys, they’re coming from me, so that’s my one job is to tell stories from my perspective, try to incorporate other characters into that as best I can.”
