Slipknot’s Jim Root “We Are Trying To Find Some Way To Play The New Album In Its Entirety”

Slipknot has only performed two songs from his new album, We Are Not Your Kind, in 2019, but there is the possibility of much more in the future since guitarist Jim Root said that the band is playing with the idea of playing the album in its totality

Next year marks the 25th anniversary of Slipknot, which could be a cause for celebration in the middle of the campaign to bring We Are Not Your Kind to worms around the world. There is no shortage of ways in which the band can honor this milestone, but Root did not reveal much by talking about it with 93.3 WMMR.

“Clown’s talking about [the 25th anniversary]… I don’t know if we’re going to play a record live. We did that with Iowa at Knotfest and it was cool,” Root said of the plan thus far.

It was then that he revealed something a little more concrete and certainly more current when adding,

“We have been talking about maybe trying to find some way to play the new album in its entirety, from top to bottom.”

Root also said he would like to delay the production of the band, which, at this point, is huge: Corey Taylor even said that Slipknot is trying “Iron Maiden stuff” with his last show on stage. Continuing his thoughts on the full performance of We Are Not Your Kind, the guitarist said:

 “I would like to do that – I think that would be something really cool. And do it in a really toned down, stripped down, no big stage set, club atmosphere type of thing.”
