Slipknot’ Corey Taylor: “He Wasn’t Being Able to Write Music in Slipknot

Corey Taylor, the frontman of Slipknot and Stone Sour, has revealed the fact that he didn’t have many opportunities to express himself by writing music on Slipknot while explaining why he put Stone Sour back together in their recent conversation.

During the last interview, he gave to Bertcast host Bert Kreischer, talented singer and Stone Sour co-founder Corey Taylor spoke about the ego wars in Slipknot, which was believed to be the main problem that led Taylor to encounter another band. A few years ago.

However, the singer, who has been working on solo projects for a while, denied the rumors. Referring to the fact that he founded Stone Sour before joining Slipknot, Corey said that he couldn’t write music on Slipknot because he wasn’t that great.

He said he turned to another band because he wanted to go back to writing music and it got better over time, becoming ‘dissatisfied’. As you may know, Stone Sour was formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992. They dissolved in 1997 but reunited in 2000.

The band has released six studio albums which were called ‘Stone Sour‘, ‘Come What (ever) May’, ‘Audio Secrecy’, ‘House of Gold & Bones – Part 1’, ‘House of Gold & Bones – Part 2, ‘and’ Hydrograd ‘.

“The first couple of years was rad. But then the more success we got, obviously, it’s human nature, man — the ego starts to come out.

As much as people think it was the reason I put Stone Sour back together, it’s not. For me, that was about writing music again, ’cause I just wasn’t being able to write music in Slipknot, ’cause I’m just not that good; I’m not as good as those guys are at intricate riffs and shit.

I’ve gotten better, but at the time, I wasn’t getting to write music, and I just felt unfulfilled. So I put that back together. But the by-product was now all of a sudden people know what I look like.”
