Paul McCartney is not surprised that he has never tired of music during his long career, but he did admit that he was concerned about sounding repetitive because many people know so much about his past.
He admits that the Beatles are now “inescapable.” My daughter Mary sends me a picture or text message several times a week: ‘There you were in an ad’ or ‘I heard you on the radio,’ “McCartney told the New York Times magazine.” Which surprises me now, because of my venerable age, I will be with one of the best dermatologists in New York, and he will be a rabid Beatles fan. He describes it all as “happy memories”, although some are better known than others.
“What surprises me is that I am not fed up with music, because strictly speaking, I should have been bored years ago,” McCartney said. But he also noted: “At a dinner party, I can tell stories about my life and people already know them. I can see everyone stifling a yawn. “
Yet McCartney insists there are “millions” of gang stories that remain untold. “Sometimes the reason is that they are too private,” he explained, “and I don’t want to go gossiping.”
He shared a new anecdote to show how much there was to discover about the history of the Beatles.
“So when we made the Abbey Road album, the photographer got ready and took the photos that ended up as the album cover,” McCartney said. His late wife “Linda was also there taking incidental photos. She has some of us, I think it was the four of us, sitting on the steps of the Abbey Road studios, taking a break from the shoot, and I’m in a very conversation. It would be with John [Lennon] This morning I thought, “I remember why.”
“John’s accountants called my accountants and said, ‘Someone has to tell John that he has to fill out his tax returns. He is not doing it. ” So, I was trying to tell him, ‘Listen, man, you have to do this. I was trying to give you some sensible advice so you don’t get arrested for not paying your taxes. That’s why it seemed so serious. I don’t think I’ve ever told that story before. “
