The iconic Led Zeppelin guitarist, Jimmy Page, shared a new photo on his official and certified Instagram page and added another notch to his well-known On This Day archive.
As you will read below, Jimmy Page revealed how he played in New Orleans, the Municipal Auditorium, which was the musical destination he had wanted for many years, in 1971.
Here is the story below:
“On this day in 1971, I played in New Orleans with @LedZeppelin
Finally, I get to play the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans — a musical destination that I had craved for many a year. With homegrown talent and the likes of Clarence Frogman Henry, Dave Bartholomew, Fats Domino, Frankie Ford, Dr John, Professor Longhair, The Mardis Gras Indians, The Metres, The Neville Brothers, Hughey ‘Piano’ Smith and the magnificent blind blues minstrel Snooks Eaglin – the list is endless of the talent that was born and raised in this magickal area.
Frankie Ford was still appearing at his bar in Bourbon Street at the time that we played there.
Bourbon Street pulsated with energy and indigenous music. I had the appetite for all of it!”
