Jimmy Page has asked streaming companies to pay artists fairer royalties for their work.

The Led Zeppelin guitarist said he was “obliged” to write a letter in response to the Digital, Culture, Media and Sports Committee’s investigation last month into streaming services.

In a post on Instagram, Page wrote: “I fully appreciate the dilemma surrounding streaming royalties that should be legitimately paid to all musicians and writers who made the music. ⁣⁣ The sooner streaming companies can make fair payments to everyone. the musicians whose music is played or viewed over the Internet, and paying fair royalties to those who bring us great pleasure from those who are exploiting it, the better. ”
