Cheap Trick, Kiss, Foo Fighters Members, Others Send Get-Well Messages To Sebastian Bach

Suzanne Le, Sebastian Bach‘s wife, has created a video for her guitarist Brent Woods, who was recently diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia called hairy cell leukemia (HCL). The 46-minute clip, which can be viewed below, includes messages of support from several well-known hard rock and heavy metal musicians, including members of Kiss, Cheap Trick, Foo Fighters, Slipknot, Jane’s Addiction
, Steel Panther, and The Dead Margaritas.

In a statement accompanying the video’s release on YouTube, Sebastian wrote: “It is rare in the music industry to find a musician whose sound is so unique that he is practically irreplaceable. My guitarist and great friend Brent Woods is more than those things to us. Brent is a member of the family. As unique as his guitar sound and sense of humor, what is even rarer in the music industry is a musician who is loved by virtually everyone in the industry with The ones who have worked or even Brent is the best of the best … in handling guitar riffs, relentless, precise and sordid in the best LA style and sense of rock ‘n’ roll.

Woods revealed his battle for health in a Facebook post last month. At the time, he wrote: “I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia called HCL. Approximately 1,200 people are diagnosed each year, it is not inherited and experts say they do not know how it is contracted.”

“I want everyone reading this post to have a blood test. I had no idea I had this until I did. I had no symptoms. In fact, the only reason I had a blood test was that I went for a covid antibody test in May and my doctor said, “It’s been a while since we’ve seen all your blood tests, so while you’re here let’s do it all.” I did and it showed that many of my levels were alarmingly low After months of tests, treatments, and bone marrow biopsies with my hematologist, I was diagnosed with leukemia.

According to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, LCH occurs when the bone marrow produces too many B cells (lymphocytes), a type of white blood cell that fights infection. As the number of leukemia cells increases, fewer healthy white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets are produced. This type of leukemia gets its name from the way cells look under a microscope, with fine fragments that make them look “hairy.”
